Hello 2015, what a year it has been. I started this year by treating myself
to a super fluffy faux fur bean bag chair by PBteen. My only issue is that
Billy (my adorable, 15 year old Jack Russell Mix and the Billy in Billy Grrrl)
has hijacked it!
This was definitely the year for firsts. The beginning of January 2014, I
changed the name of my business to Billy Grrrl. This was a challenge
since my name is not Billy and the County Clerk told me I could only
work under my own name as a sole proprietor. I had to prove what a
Billy Grrrl was and have supporting materials to document this.
I did a lot of research and discovered a Billy Grrrl is a young woman who is
willful, creative, and independent. The meaning couldn’t have been more
perfect since my needlepoint kits are geared towards young women who
want to explore their creativity while relieving stress and giving them a
sense of accomplishment. Through my workshops, I’ve discovered boys
and men are also interested in learning how to stitch. I’m constantly
surprised and heartened to discover such a variety of people who share
this passion. I’ve also discovered that, like me, many new to needlepoint
are hungry for fun, modern designs. So in 2015, I look forward to
making new kits and sharing the love!
